Updated: Mar 19

multivitamins for cancer

Your body is fighting for you every single second.

Even when you feel exhausted, drained, and not quite like yourself—it hasn’t given up.

Cancer is one of the hardest battles anyone can face.

You may feel exhausted, worn down, and not quite like yourself.. And when you’re in the thick of treatment, every day can feel like an uphill climb.

That is why your body needs the right support to stay strong, recover faster, and keep fighting.

And it is no surprise that Vitamins are a key component of a fast recovery!

Incorporating a diet high in fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds and roots is a good way to incorporate a variety of vitamins but guess what?

Today’s produce have lost most of their nutrients compared to 50 years ago. The reason? - Long shelf life in grocery stores - Long transit between the time it was picked and the time it gets to you - Long time sitting in the fridge - Massive production and nutrient deprived soil - Use of gmo seeds and pesticides

Remember, the longer it has been since a fruit or vegetable was harvested, the greater the loss of vitamins, minerals, and other essential nutrients. Some studies have shown that the produce you usually find in grocery stores have lost 60 to 70% of their nutritional value!

So what can you do? Eat more fruits and veggies to compensate? Would that be efficient?

Well, yes but there are also other things you can do! Juicing is one of them, taking a multivitamin is another.

Yes, it’s that simple! So let’s talk about vitamins.

First, you need to know that most multivitamins just aren’t up to the task.

Many are synthetic, hard to absorb, and can leave your body still lacking the nutrients it desperately needs.

And when you’re facing something as intense as cancer, you don’t need just any vitamins—you need the right ones, in a form your body can actually use. So what should you look for?

  • Whole-food

  • Fermented

  • Made from a natural-source

These 3 elements are extremely important as they will provide nutrients that are easier to absorb and offer real support when you need it most.

Here are a few key vitamins you should have in your multivitamin

  • Vitamin D3 & K2: Cancer treatment can weaken your bones and suppress your immune function. This combination strengthens your bones, boosts your immune system, and reduces inflammation, helping your body stay resilient.

  • B Vitamins (B6, B9, B12 from fermentation): Chemotherapy and radiation often leave you feeling completely drained. B vitamins help restore your energy, support brain function, and combat the overwhelming fatigue that comes with treatment.

  • Vitamin C (from natural sources): When you’re undergoing cancer treatment, your body’s need for support and repair becomes even more essential. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that helps combat oxidative stress, promotes tissue healing, and strengthens your immune system’s ability to defend against infections. It also plays a key role in collagen production, aiding in the recovery of damaged tissues and maintaining overall resilience.

  • Curcumin (from fermented Turmeric): Inflammation and pain are common side effects of treatment. Curcumin is a powerful anti-inflammatory that eases pain, improves digestion, and protects your cells from oxidative stress.

  • CoQ10: Your heart and cells need energy to function properly, especially when they’ve been through the stress of cancer treatments. CoQ10 supports heart health and boosts cellular energy production, helping your entire body cope better.

  • Magnesium: Unfortunately stress, anxiety, and muscle tension can really increase during cancer treatment. Magnesium helps your muscles relax, calms your nervous system, and makes it easier for you get the deep, restorative sleep your body needs to recover.

  • Zinc (fermented): Your immune system takes a major hit during chemotherapy and radiation. Zinc is vital for wound healing, fighting infections, and protecting your body while it’s in this vulnerable state.

  • Iodine (from natural sources): Treatment can disrupt your thyroid function, leading to fatigue and hormonal imbalances. Iodine supports thyroid health and helps restore balance, keeping your energy and metabolism stable.

  • Omega-3s (from algae or fish fermentation): Brain fog and inflammation are common side effects of cancer treatment. Omega-3s reduce inflammation, support cognitive function, and keep your heart strong.

Each of these nutrients plays a different role in helping your body stay strong while you fight cancer.

One last tip, is to take your multivitamins WITH food, not on an empty stomach. That will improve the absorption and reduce stomach irritation.

During this challenging journey your body deserves the best care possible, so I truly hope that this proves helpful to you. You might not notice the benefits right away, but with consistent use, you will gradually start to feel the difference. 💚
